Asterix and the Normans introduces the character of Justforkix,
Vitalstatistix's hip nephew.
He would prove so popular that he would star
in three Alea Jacta Est
Asterix Game books.
Justforkix brings to the village rock music,
a style that was very very popular in the 60s when the book
was published and is a good satire on the subject.
A cartoon movie Asterix
and the Vikings based on this book was released in 2006.
A limited release of Asterix and the Normans with a new cover
by Uderzo was released for the occasion in France.

Review
|
The premise behind this book is a nice idea but the humour
and story never really hit off. Their are however a few
great moments in the book (Cacofonix's journey through the
country, the ever suffering Romans who get caught between
the Gauls and Normans) that make it worth looking at. Pity
there couldn't have been more.
